Classifying Matter
Matter is everything and anything that has mass and can fill up a space. There are a lot of definitions within matter that make up matter, which are;
- Mass: Mass is how much matter there is in a object
- Energy: Energy is anything that can produce heat or is capable of doing some kind of work
- Weight: Weight is just like mass so its easy to get confused but weight is a force of gravity that is acting on a mass of an object
- Atoms: Atoms are the smallest particle that can share the same properties as an element can
- Element: An element is a substance broken down. Some examples: wire Non-Example: Water
- Compounds: A compound is a substance made of atoms of more than one type of element which can form chemical bonds. An example would be H2O
