- Absolutely NO eating or chewing gum
- Goggles MUST be worn at all times when needed
- Wash hands before and after you do a lab
- Mainly girls, make sure your hair is pulled back from your face so you do not get hair in your experiment you are preforming
- DO NOT taste anything, you do not know what is being handled and you do not want to take that risk of getting sick
- Be aware of hot glass
- Make sure your dress code is fine, closed toe shoes, no loose fitting clothes, and also long pants
- Absolutely NO food or drinks in the laboratory otherwise instructed by your instructor because you do not want to spill anything or get food in any experiment that is being preformed and ruin the lab
- No contact lenses at all times, the reason for that is because if you are doing a lab some particles might get trapped under the lens without you knowing and it could cause a lot of damage
- Make sure after you are done with your lab you wash your beakers or equipment thoroughly to ensure that nothing will get mixed in the next time you use the equipment
- NEVER point objects at your instructor or peers because i could be dangerous
- Be aware of ALL chemicals that are in use
- If anything goes wrong, do not try to fix it on your own, ask your instructor to come help you!
- DO NOT use a chemical near a flame unless told otherwise by your instructor
- Most importantly, know what you are doing. If you go into a lab not knowing or understanding the rules or experiment you can put yourself or others into danger
